Product Management Lead

We are looking for passionate product management leader to join our dynamic team operating from Finland. We are interested in people with  good knowledge in their area of expertise, understanding in other areas and willingness to continuously learn something new.  Persons who share our vision to build great OS.

In this role you will provide a full solution to Sailfish product offering based on our strategy. You’ll ensure Jolla will have Sailfish OS based secure mobile solution offering that is attractive for enterprises and governments. The role covers a wide area including defining processes for product management, owning the product roadmaps, leading product documentation creation and leading go-to-market. You will co-ordinate building world class mobile ecosystem together with R&D, sales, marketing and customers.

We are looking for a person with

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience of building secure mobile solutions and good understanding of software technologies in mobile SW business.
  • Strong & successful track-record of leading product management in international IT business.
  • Experience in requirements management and creating processes for product management.
  • Understanding of corporate IT systems, organizations and enterprise mobile device management.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Responsibilities include

  • Owner of Sailfish OS product management.
  • Roadmap planning with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Product concepting and planning.
  • Support Sailfish OS sales and project business. Help closing deals.
  • Support sales to develop new business opportunities to Sailfish OS.
  • Participate in company strategy development and execution plan.
  • Analyzing potential business partners to support Jolla’s strategy.
  • Supporting marketing activities of the company from product perspective.
  • Keep up to date with recent market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.

UI Developer (QML/Qt)

We are looking for a UI Developer with passion to Linux to join our Jolla boat. We are interested in people with good knowledge in their area of expertise, understanding in other areas and willingness to continuously learn something new.  Persons who share our vision to build great OS.

In this role you will participate in development and maintenance of smartphone UI stack for Sailfish OS. Your tasks will include planning, designing, implementing and testing smartphone features using Qt/QML and C++.

You are the person we are looking for, if you

  • have experience in UI development using Qt and QML, or otherwise can demonstrate domain expertise in user interface development
  • have strong development skills in C++
  • have good understanding of Linux OS architecture
  • have good command of English language
  • have good team working skills and ‘can do’ attitude

Middelware (C++) Developer

In this role you will participate in software development and maintenance of the middleware in Sailfish OS. Your tasks will include planning, designing, implementing and testing software modules.

You are the person we are looking for, if you 

  • have multiple years of experience in C++. Qt experience seen as an advantage.
  • have thorough understanding of Linux OS architecture and experience working with Open Source projects.
  • have good command of English language.
  • have good team working skills and ‘can do’ attitude.

Visual Designer

We are looking for a freelance Visual Designer to join our Jolla boat in Tampere, Finland. We are interested in people with good knowledge in their area of expertise, understanding in other areas and willingness to continuously learn something new.

In this role you will work closely with other designers and User interface developers in order to create fascinating designs for Sailfish OS. You are passionate, hands-on, have an eye for details and you value creating holistic design system. You are used to sketch, share and iterate rapidly in order to produce pixel perfect designs. You know how to balance between appealing designs, usability and technical limitations.

Responsibilities

  • Design visual assets for Sailfish OS’s user interface as well as Sailfish apps.
  • Create layout guidance for developers.
  • Design appealing motion graphics supporting user interactions.
  • Design company and product web pages.
  • Create visual assets for marketing purposes.

Requirements

  • Skillful with relevant industry standard software such as Adobe CC and Figma.
  • Knowledge of web tools like WordPress.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

In addition you should have

  • Good team working skills and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Capability to participate in virtual team work effectively.
